  • Overview

    This role is responsible for leading the Automotive business at Safariland and will report directly to the VP/GM.   You will hold responsibility for the management of multiple locations, leading teams responsible for program management, manufacturing and warehousing in multiple locations.  You will direct the ongoing day to day business while leading or assisting with the initiative to improve Processes, Sales, Operations, Marketing and Supply Chain.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the management of assigned areas meeting/exceeding margin and sales plans.
    • Lead the program team on design, development and execution of new products/programs.
    • Lead research of new processes, product enhancements and product redesign.
    • Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
    • Drive process improvement and cost reduction initiatives to improve margins on legacy programs.
    • Annually research and analyze current programs as they contribute to the overall category strategy, and profitability for current and new customers, determining programs to overhaul, enhance or eliminate from the portfolio.
    • Lead production and program teams in multiple facilities to meet customer delivery schedules while maintaining quality standards, targeted inventory levels and productivity goals.
    • Understand competitive marketplace and document competitive cross references. Additional responsibilities include:
      • Communicating with factories the product specifications of proposed new product.
      • Monitoring, tracking and organizing of all approved proposed new product samples.
      • Complete P&L for all items and communicate cost for product and accurately forecast program and product margins.
      • Approve all Pre-Production samples
      • Accurately complete item set up requirements and all related documents: communicate to all parties/departments.
    • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned from the VP/GM.
    • Act as a leader within the company

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of experience in product management and team leadership (automotive industry experience preferred)
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks
    • Must have a sense of urgency and be deadline and process oriented
    • Must have strong analytical skills
    • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrates attention to detail/organization skills
    • Ability to work independently within a team environment
    • Open and collaborative style

     

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably with concentration in marketing, business, or engineering). MBA a plus.
    • Proficient in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM’s.
