  • Overview

    The primary focus of this position is to direct, develop, market, and sell for profit training classes, and support the sales efforts through training, product expertise, and demos.


    • Develops for profit training classes for the Division based on products and customer solutions
    • Develops classes that train end-users in the safe and proficient use of our products, thereby reducing liability risk
    • Develops and markets tactics training classes for the Division
    • Evaluates and implements new technologies for improved training offerings
    • Increases revenue growth for the Divsion on a year to year basis
    • Develop and upgrade curriculum for training classes
    • Review all training materials for proper legal warnings and advise risk management concerns
    • Conduct a quarterly review to get direct feedback from customers
    • Integrates all training activities into one department
    • Rationalize and cross train expert on product lines
    • Directs the operational and fiscal activities of the department including staffing levels and financial goals
    • Champions change and effectively manages the implementation of new ideas
    • Communicates relevant information to superiors
    • Ensures department is well informed, at all times, of changes and events within department and organization
    • Maintains compliance at all times
    • Effectively handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice and respect for the individual
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Supervise five (5) full time Safariland employees, plus approximately 50 part time Adjunct Instructors/SME’s.


    • Ten (10) or more years of related experience in law enforcement, sales, product support or training. Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in tactics and training disciplines.
    • High School diploma required
    • Bachelors degree in Business or Criminal Justice preferred
    • Strong leadership and decision making abilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
    • Problem solving ability
    • Ability to multi task
    • Moderate travel required
    • Excellent product knowledge
    • Strong market knowledge
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work in high stress situations
    • Ability to manage people
    • Ability to work in cross functional teams
    • Proficiency and experience in handling related product utilized in operational and training scenarios.
    • Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
