    Responsible for day-to-day export compliance activities for all U.S. Safariland locations.  Assist all The Safariland Group (TSG) locations with export compliance issues, when needed.  Review orders for export compliance requirements. Obtain export licenses and agreements. Classify products according to export regulations. Interface with internal/external customers and help resolve any issues that may arise. Ensure up-to-date compliance processes and procedures are followed.  

    Responsibilities


    • Performs daily review of export shipment requests. Determines whether an export license is required and provides approval and instruction related to the export. Participates in discussion/meetings regarding orders for all products.

    • Reviews and approves presentations, briefings, documents, marketing publications, and other information prior to release outside the company or to foreign (non-US) persons. Determines if the information is considered technology/technical data.  Reviews and approves other export activities including non-US person visitors and international travel authorizations.

    • Prepares and manages export license applications for the export of technical data, hardware, and services in accordance with company policies and procedures and U.S. Government export regulations and laws.

    • Resolves shippers’ questions related to the Automated Export System.

    • Maintains records as required by the law and internal processes. Assists in overseeing maintenance of export records by other departments.

    • Assists with preparation and delivery of export compliance training throughout the organization.

    • Classifies goods, components, and technology for export purposes and manages classification information. Seeks commodity jurisdictions or commodity classifications, when applicable.

    • Assists in updating export compliance manual and procedures as required to ensure compliance with current government regulations. 

    • Assists in auditing export activities to ensure compliance.

    • Supports internal customers such as International Sales, Shipping, and Operations. Assist organization with understanding the compliance requirements of proposed and actual activities.

    • Remains knowledgeable about regulations by attending seminars and keeping abreast of regulatory and procedural changes.

    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

    • Minimal travel required.

    Qualifications


    • Four (4) to seven (7) years in a significant export environment

    • Strong background in U.S. export regulations

    • Working knowledge of UK/EU and Canadian regulations is a plus

    • In-depth knowledge of export regulations, including: International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R. Part 120 et seq.), Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. Part 730 et seq.), Foreign Trade Regulations (15 C.F.R. Part 30), and U.S. Customs regulations (19 C.F.R.)

    • Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization

    • Organizational skills

    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially proficient in Excel)

    • Displays sound judgment


    Education



    • Bachelor’s degree in international business or trade related field preferred or equivalent related work experience
