  • Overview

    The IT Security Specialist will work as part of a dynamic IT Team. The duties of this position include monitoring, analyzing, assessing, interpreting, tracking and facilitating information security events, incidents and trends. The specialist will also be responsible for management of the firewalls, patch management, NAC, DLP, IPS/IDS and AV enterprise systems and implementing compliance solutions.


    • Assist in maintaining and creating security policies and documentation as needed for the enterprise.
    • Assist with implementation of security policies and security awareness training at an enterprise level.
    • Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised industry standards, regulatory requirements, risk assessment techniques, security solutions and trends, improve security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
    • Management, administration and audit of firewalls, patch management systems, NAC, DLP, IDS/IPS and AV systems.
    • Research and identify security incidents, threats and mitigation strategies - performing "hands on" security/vulnerability mitigation as required.
    • Work with vendors to perform vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.
    • Participation in enterprise Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan tasks.
    • Hands on experience with network routers, switches and network technologies, as well as, VMware/Hyper-V.
    • Knowledge of current PCI and SOX compliance requirements.
    • Coordinating vendor and business resources needed for enterprise solutions related to security functions.


    • Minimum of 5 years IT Experience
    • 2-5 designing, implementing and tuning security solutions
    • 3-5 years managing firewalls (ASA, Fortinet) and patch management (SCCM, DC)
    • 2-3 years managing NAC (ISE, Extreme, Clearpass), DLP (Symantec, Trend), IPS/IDS and AV (Trend, Rapid7)
    • Knowledge and experience of PCI, SOX, NIST, OWASP
    • Knowledge of GDPR Requirements
    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fields
    • Must have one or more of the following certifications:
      • Certified Information Security Auditor, CISA
      • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, MCSE
      • Certified Information Systems Security Professional, CISSP
      • Cisco Certified Network Associate, CCNA
    • Must have experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint or similar project management and documentation tools and practices.
