Overview

Supervise all shop operations, control work flow, ensure a safe and productive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain work schedule and efficient manufacture of product
  • Delegate work assignments to production associates
  • Assist with material ordering and material availability concerns
  • Monitor work in process to maintain Quality throughput production phase
  • Review documentation for completeness, accuracy and appropriate sign-offs
  • Train new or reassigned associates in their job functions
  • Examine all machinery and equipment for proper functioning
  • Maintain cleanliness and working order
  • Supervise and motivate associates in shop area
  • Complete work of a highly critical or sensitive nature as necessary
  • Analyze issues and solve problems
  • Review backlog and get committed orders shipped
  • Build leadership in the Team Leads under your direct supervision
  • Work with Lean Coordinator to help facilitate improvements
  • Conduct Safety Risk Assessments with the SHE Team
  • Look for opportunities and implement improvements in Safety, Quality and Productivity
  • Perform other duties as assignedSupervise day-to-day operations, especially in Production Manager’s absence 

 

Qualifications

  • Vocational training or general education
  • Three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED

  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of use and operation of all hand tools and equipment used in the industry
  • Ability to direct others
  • Ability to work in conjunction with other associates
  • Ability to convey work orders and procedures in a concise manner
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to recognize problems as they may occur in a job procedure
