We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mold Maker Machinist to join our team.
Reporting to the Tooling Shop Foreman, we are looking for a very hands-on person familiar with the operation of manual mills, and surface grinders. Qualified candidates will work closely with design and programming engineers as well as mold makers on the shop floor. The successful candidate will be able to work from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Essential Job Functions:
Set up an operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly
Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths or power grinders
Study and understand blueprints, sketches, models or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies or assemblies
Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair and maintenance
Ability to see details at close range
Successful candidates will show high initiative, be self-motivated and the ability to act independently to resolve issues on technical matters.
